What's going to happen?

The other parties are not always sweetness and light. But will the Cameron government be the last and final time the wool is pulled over the eyes of the public? They only get elected by convincing you, me and the dustman that they have all our interests at heart. Yet 200+ years of history proves that they address mainly the problems of those who have "too much" already. We need new thinkers for the next few generations. We may face man-made climate change, or catastrophes from another source. Keeping millionaires in walled gardens and private jets will address precisely none of this.

Finished Climate Wars by Gwynne Dyer on holiday. Nothing particularly new except for the detailed quotes from various people whose status means they should be taken very seriously. And the scenarios... It's not exactly news, but the human race needs to de-carbonise the economy. Not next week, next year or next decade, but today. Probably already too late to prevent CO2 equivalent exceeding 450ppm, so we are going to need radical measures to avoid enormous casualties in the next 10, 20, 40 years.
